Ayla is a gorgeous chocolate tan doe, not to bad a type, lovely long tail and streamline body but comes from a mousery who I have found has quite a few problems when it comes to bad mothers and baby eaters.. So I paired her with a buck that I felt it wouldn't really matter if she turned out to be a bad Mum or not, an experiment I suppose. Ayla : And the boy, Taittenger. His type is terrible other than his eyes but he is lovely and squishy at 60g Self Burmese Agouti I don't doubt this will be a big litter, Ayla started at 45g and is now up to 71g and she isn't due til the 11th-13th!

Ayla really is lovely, and Taittenger has awesome eyes. Good luck with this litter - hopefully Ayla will cope and be a good mother. I'm looking forward to when the babies arrive!

Good luck with the litter! Hopefully she isn't a baby eater and you get a nice, large and healthy litter

With how things are going, I would say she should have had her babies by tomorrow morning - nipples are prominent and she has lost 1 gram which I find the does with the larger litters tend to do just before they are going to give birth. She has gained 30 grams in all so I'm expecting a litter between 10 and 15.

Yay! Congrats. Great male/female ratio. Hows she doing so far as a mother?

Yay! Congrats. Great male/female ratio. Hows she doing so far as a mother? It's not to bad. I have absolutely no use for boys from this litter. The bubs all had milk bellies and were all of decent size for the size litter it was. I'll check on her and the bubs sometime tomorrow in amongst getting birthday stuff sorted.

5 girls and 1 boy remain. Ayla is holding her weight very well but some babies were falling behind fairly quickly.

Time for an update! Babies are 6 days old now, Two appear to be standard agouti, I suspect the pink eyed bub is champagne or Siamese/himi (albino isn't possible with the pairing).

And I seem to have already decided who I'm going to keep, knowing my luck she will be the worst type bub out of the lot (I don't expect good type from this litter at all though) but she is pretty. I think she may be a fox as well..

She is so sweet. A good choice for a keeper! All the bubs look fat and healthy.
