I'm curious to see how long everyone's oldest current mouse is? and what is your oldest ever mouse? My current oldest is a blue agouti long coat called Jem she is 20 months and my oldest mouse ever was a tiny mouse called Ginny she lived til she was 2 years and 2 months.

My current oldest mouse is one of my stud bucks, Junior, who is only 15 months old. My oldest ever mouse was Juniors Dad, Basil, who passed away at 33 months (or 2 years and 9 months)

Our oldest mice at the moment are 15 months old - Froghollow Imp, Mkt Sirocco and Mkt Ollie. This thread prompted me to go back through the mice we've had over the last 7 years and whilst I like to think that our mice live for a long time I'm afraid to say that the average is probably around about 15 months.
We have had several that have lived up around the 28 - 30 months with surprisingly most being female. One of our does who lived with a friend lived to 33 months, which is our longest lived mouse.

I agree with what you're saying about how we think our mice live a lot longer than they do. Perhaps because we tend to think of our longest lived mice, but when you look at the average age, it's obviously a lot less. My oldest mouse was a small female who lived to 27 months. Oldest male was Mkt Cal, who lived to 23 months.
Currently I just have a small colony of retired, older girls. Two recently died, and I only have three left, oldest 23 months. The youngest, at only 17 months, is starting to lose condition and slow down, so sadly I think she'll be the next to go.

He certainly was, Sharon. He was not just a good looking mouse - he had the most adorable personality. I was very sad when he died, as he turned out to be the mouse that filled the spot left by Lucius. I loved his ways, and totally enjoyed him as a pet as well as part of my breeding program. He had excellent health for all of his long life.
