For those new members interested in attending one of our shows, here are our show dates for the year as listed on our website (16 Dec, 2012).
August 3rd
October 12th
November 30th (?)
Shows are held at the Ermington Uniting Church hall, cnr Trumper & Victoria Rds, Ermington. NSW.
Annual General Meeting of the Australian Rodent Fanciers NSW
Our next show is on the 3rd of August and the AGM will be held on this day.
If any member has submissions of Agenda - ie. anything you want us to address in the AGM, whether you have questions, concerns, suggestions, etc.
If everyone here can have a think about things you think need to be brought up that would be great - Website, forum, mailing list, printers, ribbons, show running, finance, OH&S, newsletter, etc etc - there's stuff we can improve!
They can email these to info@ausrfsnsw.com.
We look forward to a productive enjoyable day, and remember it's your club and your say is important to the club.

The registration page for mice isn't working on the website. Also, there's no Show Guidelines for mice, should a newbie use the Rats document as a template?

I have asked for it to be checked, so hopefully it will be up and running very soon.

Below is a copy of the Mouse Guidelines. It's on our FB page. If you want to see standards for mice go to my website, it's on that.
General
All animals brought to the Show, whether being entered or not should be of good health and condition. There should be no signs of illness or parasite infestation. Animals should be at least 5 weeks old.
Class Entry Rules
Introductory This Class is limited to new exhibitors not having shown with AusRFSNSW inc before. It is a place to learn about showing and how to show (including what not to show). New exhibitors may enter 2 entries per Show for 3 Shows only.
Junior Pet Class The Junior Pet Class is reserved for exhibitors aged 15 years and younger, with a limit of 2 entries per exhibitor. An animal exhibited in this class may also be eligible for it Standards based Class.
Pet Class The Pet Class is open to all exhibitors. There is a limit of 2 entries per exhibitor. An animal exhibited in this class may also be eligible for it Standards based Class.
Conformation Class The Conformation Class is open to all exhibitors and is for animals which are deemed to have outstanding conformation but are excluded from the normal Standards based Classes because of a disqualifying colour fault. There is a limit of 2 entries per exhibitor.
Standards Based Classes The Standards based Classes are open to all exhibitors. There is no limit on the number of entries an exhibitor may enter in each Class.
Use of Breeder Prefix Breeder prefixes are only to be attached to entries which are a result of a mating between your doe and a buck (either your own buck or someone else’s). Class results may be used to calculate yearly “Best” awards and incorrectly attaching a Breeders prefix will skew the results. Entries with Breeders prefixes may need to be backed up with pedigrees and should be made available to an official on request.
Appeals and Clarification of Decisions Appeals and clarification requests are to be lodged with either the Show Secretary or a Steward within a timely fashion. Exhibitors are not to approach the Judges whilst they are in the process of judging.
Animal Entry Guidelines
Show Condition All animals brought to the Show, whether being entered or not, should appear happy, healthy and in good condition. There should be no sign of illness, injury or parasites. Their breathing and movement should be normal showing no signs of distress. They should be clean and neat with no missing body parts. Their nails should be clean and not be of excessive length. All animals presented should be tractable and easy to handle.
Faults The following generic conditions will incur a loss of points at judging time. These are in addition to the standard specific faults for the class that the entry is being judged under. • Stained or dirty coat • Too fat or too thin • Nicked ear, scaly skin, kinked or short tail, or lack of whiskers
Disqualifications The following conditions are considered suitable grounds for disqualification from judging and are in addition to the standard specific disqualification criteria. Disqualification is at the discretion of the Judges, Stewards and Show Secretary, and may not necessarily be for a reason listed below. • Pregnant or nursing females • Respiratory problems, excessive scabs, mites or lice, abscesses, wounds or eye infections • Obvious ill health and tumours • Biting or intractability • Animals under 6 weeks of age • Missing body parts • Surgical alteration • Any dyeing, plucking or trimming intended to alter natural condition • Any obvious physical abnormality
Judging
Classes Animals will be judged according to the Class Standards in which they are entered as laid down by the AusRFSNSW inc. These Standards include conformation, coat variety and colour.
Scratchings & Late Entries Scratchings and late entries are to be tabled before the Show starts. No late entries will be accepted after judging begins.
Show Tanks Animals are to be contained in a suitable acrylic show tank commonly known as “kritter keepers” or fish aquariums. These show tanks may be hired at the Show, or exhibitors may use their own if they are a comparable brand and do not differ in style or size to the Club show tanks. Mice are to be contained in the “mini” size and rats in the “medium” size. Show tanks may not be personalised in any way. A suitable litter such as Breeders Choice shall be used in the base of the tank.
Scoring System Judging will be conducted for all Standards based Classes using the AusRFSNSW inc scoring system shown below. Pet Classes and Conformation Class will use the same scoring system concentrating on the conditions that pertain to that particular Class.
Eyes 5 Ears 5 Head 5 Tail 5 Coat Type 10 Colour/Marking 20 Conformation 20 Condition 10 Temperament 20

Can the admins please rename this thread using the correct name for the Club?
Australian Rodent Fanciers Society of New South Wales inc
I know it sounds a bit pedantic but after the trouble the Club has previously had with the Dept of Fair Trading and some members causing problems when acronyms etc have been used, we can't afford for the wrong name to be displayed.
It also confuses people looking for information on the Club if they don't have the correct name.
Thanks
