One of my havana babies has a lump on her underside. It might be abscess, since it looks sort of blistery, but Zen thought it might be an umbilical hernia. I remember checking her last week for sex and to confirm the belly spot and there wasn't anything there. Zen spotted it on Sunday so it's no more than a few days old. It's about the size and shape of a pea, it looks a bit yellowish but it's also partly under her belly spot so that's possibly affecting the color. She doesn't like me poking at it, but she didn't show any signs of extreme distress (squeaking, biting) when I examined it. It doesn't appear to be affecting her movement or personality, but she's always been one of the more shy babies. Any advice for treatment? I tried to get a picture but doing it one-handed on a squirming baby is almost impossible. I'm going to get one of my neighbors to help later this evening.

I'd be interested to see if you can get a pic.

My sister's coming over tomorrow, she's got a snazzy smartphone so I'm hoping for some pics then. The girl is still alert and looking fine otherwise, and the lump seems to have maintained the same size or maybe gotten a bit smaller (or the mouse has gotten bigger).
It feels a bit hard, not squishy like some tumors I've felt, about the size and relative texture of a small dried pea. If it was a person, I'd say it was a really nasty pimple or boil.
By the way, this lump is the only reason I'm holding this one back, so if we can fix it you can have a havana girl to add to your collection. ;P
