Recently I've taken to filling up my mouse tank with LOADS of bedding and other bits and pieces. So my mice have started building these very cool tunnel systems. Every day it changes, but yesterday's efforts were particularly awesome. Only problem is that it's difficult to find the mice I want sometimes Lol. It's interesting because different mice have different "preferences" for what times they come out. Some only seem to come out at night whereas I see different mice in the morning. Some just constantly like to stay on top, others constantly prefer to be in the tunnel systems. Very cool. Another bonus is that they seem to move the yucky litter to the bottom or something - they do their own recycling. So it's been about 2 weeks with roughly 20 mice in that tank, it doesn't smell yet even a little bit. Very cool!!

Also even though it looks like they can't get at their hopper, they have built a little tunnel for that too. So they go underneath the hopper to get at their noms. SO cool.

Wow, fantastic! I'm very impressed, I've got to try doing something like this sometime. It just looks too cool for words.

If you get coconut coir and sort of layer it through the bedding, that helps it from collapsing so that they can build their tunnels. Got this cute pic the other day too.
