Not much new to report except the missing 2 babies seem to have reappeared--I counted 24 again last night. I couldn't get a proper count tonight, since Cherry wouldn't relinquish the ones she was feeding when I did my check. She just blinked up at me like a happy stoner mouse and sat there on top of a cheeping heap, lol.
The beginning of colors are starting to appear! Some pups are quite dark, especially the bigger ones, and some are very pale. But most of them are still pink and translucent, even though they're a week old on Friday/Saturday.
There's a truly impressive size differential, and some of the bigger pups are easily twice as big as the smallest ones. However all still have milk bands, and are vigorous and squeaky when picked up. They also conk out pretty quickly in my hand, all snuggled up together, it's adorable. Once they open their eyes and start taking solids I'm sure the runts will catch up with their sibs. Based on their rate of development I'm kind of expecting the eye-opening mark to hit around day 15 or so, sigh.

It's a bit of a waiting game at this time of development I think in another week or so is when the fun begins.
