Ask and you shall receive - Nimbus gave birth today and we have 5 boys and 1 girl! I was actually hoping for some bucks from Nimbus, I'd love a stud buck who looks like her.

And viola! More babies. Nebula gave birth to her own 6 babies today! 4 boys and 2 girls however which is not what I was wanting but oh well - gives me more choice for a potential replacement buck.

Little confused about Nebula's litter as 4 of the 6 babies appear to have ruby eyes but I'm sure this line doesn't carry "ch"..

Such a neat line up of babies! They look very healthy. I'm sure you'll get a good stud buck from one of these.

How cute! Are you breeding them for any particular markings?

What are your speculations on the ruby eyes? Not a huge huge amount really. Nimbus - Bentley (a/a B/b C/* P/p s/s) - Junior (A/a B/b cch/c P/p s/s) - Xia (a/a B/B C/C P/P s/s) - Nephelie (a/a B/b C/* P/* s/s) - Junior (A/a B/b cch/c P/p s/s) - Xia (a/a B/B C/C P/P s/s) Nebula - Bentley (a/a B/b C/* P/p s/s) - Junior (A/a B/b cch/c P/p s/s) - Xia (a/a B/B C/C P/P s/s) - Xia (a/a B/B C/C P/P s/s) - Pied Black Buck - Pied Black Doe Bentley - Junior (A/a B/b cch/c P/p s/s) - Piebald Fawn (unsure what exactly but was not argente) - Piebald Agouti - Xia (a/a B/B C/C P/P s/s) - Pied Black Buck - Pied Black Doe
I know that Xia's siblings were all pied blacks though. The "ruby eyed" bubs definitely aren't dove, they actually have black pigment - the 3 girls in the two litters. The outside girls have ruby eyes. These are the 3 girls before pigment was really visable : And here are the bucks from both litters - 3 of them have ruby eyes but I couldn't tell you which ones off the top of my head.

Don't know why you're confused. You've done 2 father to daughter matings, and Bentley (father) carries pink-eye (P/p) so you're bound to get pink-eyed at some stage. Your marked fawn in the background would be where the pink-eye came from as they often carry it.

Your marked fawn in the background would be where the pink-eye came from as they often carry it. I'm confused because they are NOT pink eyed bubs. I know the parents of the bubs carry pink eyes or have the potential to but that's not what these bubs are. The bubs with "pink eyes" are all pied blacks - if they had pink eyes, that black pigment would be diluted to a grey colour (dove). That's where the confusion is.

How old are these pups now? and do you have photos? I'm assuming their eyes are open and they're fully furred? So they ARE ruby-eyed black marked? In which case you've probably just bred an anomaly such as we get from time to time with things that have odd-eyes (one black, one ruby). Lucky you, this is what is so interesting about breeding mice.
